IETA LIVE SERIES - BORDER CARBON ADJUSTMENTS (BCAs) AND CARBON PRICING
April 14, 2021
The discussion of Border Carbon Adjustments is gathering pace across multiple jurisdictions; in the EU, UK, US, Canada, and beyond. This event will investigate the political, technical, and legal challenges of multiple countries coming together through a BCA arrangement, and consider the role that carbon pricing has to play as a critical element in evaluating the efficacy and legality of BCAs around the world. Join a panel of experts to consider how this might work in practice, which countries could come together on a BCA , what level of carbon prices would be necessary, and how it can be used as a tool to encourage other countries to implement carbon pricing domestically.
