This event organized by the International Emissions Trading Association (IETA) in partnership with the Environmental Defense Fund (EDF) is part of the London Climate Action Week 2020 (LCAW).
This event will discuss what role carbon markets can play in a decarbonising world aiming to reach net zero emissions around mid-century. It will take stock of the latest governments commitments, corporate pledges and international initiatives to unpack the crucial role that high-integrity carbon markets can must play to facilitate and accelerate these ambitious decarbonisation trajectories.
The session will bring together a wide range of different perspectives, including governments, private sector, civil society and academia, to share up-to-date research on how carbon markets can be used to enhance ambition and examine the latest policy, financing, and corporate leadership developments. An initial panel discussion will be followed by an interactive Q&A with the audience.
