  • INTRODUCTION

    IETA is thrilled to host the COP29 BusinessHub from the 11 to 22 November to 2024. Located in the Blue Zone, the official COP29 UNFCCC negotiating grounds, the BusinessHub will run over both weeks in Area E – Pavilion 6, providing a gathering place for the progressive business community.

    An extensive programme of in person and virtual side event sessions, including social networking events, brings together leading experts and policymakers from around the world to discuss and analyse the current state of play, what’s next for compliance and voluntary markets, and promote business cooperation on carbon market solutions, technology innovation and climate finance.

  • PRACTICAL INFORMATION

    LOCATION

    If you’re attending COP29 in person, we would be delighted to see you at IETA BusinessHub in the Blue Zone located here. The official overview map of the of the COP29 Blue Zone (negotiation area) is available here.

     

    REGISTRATION DESK OPEN HOURS

    • Sunday, 10 November: 08:00 – 18:00
    • Monday, 11 November to Tuesday, 12 November: 06:30 – 20:00
    • Wednesday, 13 November to Saturday, 16 November: 08:00 – 19:00
    • Sunday, 17 November: The conference premises, including registration, are closed.
    • Monday, 18 November: 06:30 – 19:00
    • Tuesday, 19 November to Friday, 22 November: 08:00 – 19:00

    Participants with valid badges can directly access the venue through security and access control, where their badges will be scanned. There is no need to stop by the registration desk.

     

    VISAS – (Mandatory and Free of Charge)

    All COP 29 participants traveling from outside Azerbaijan will require a visa, regardless of their nationality. A valid passport for at least three months from the date of entry into the Republic of Azerbaijan is mandatory.

    The Azerbaijan Government has authorized an electronic, free-of-charge “COP 29 Special Visa”, for all COP 29 Azerbaijan registered participants.

    Upon approval of registration via the UNFCCC Online Registration System, participants are urged to apply for visa through the visa portal, fill out the form, upload the required documents, and submit it for approval. Once approved, you will receive the visa confirmation email with a link to download your COP29 Special Visa.

    ACCOMMODATION

    TRANSPORTATION

    The Government of Azerbaijan is working to ensure that participants will have a range of smooth running and free-of-charge modes of transport. COP29 registered participants will have access to free shuttle buses between the airport, Baku Stadium, and other key locations. Transportation System will feature two main shuttle services: airport shuttles available 24/7 between Heydar Aliyev International Airport and key transport hubs; and conference shuttles connecting transport hubs with Baku Stadium and other key locations from 07:00 to 22:00 AZT.

    Dedicated buses will also run between Koroghlu metro station and the stadium’s Blue Zone for easy access. You can plan your journey using the Digital Transportation map available here.

    CATERING

    A dedicated portal has been created to streamline catering services for COP29. This platform showcases the various catering options available at the event venue. Meal orders can be placed through this portal.

    In the Blue Zone, the following services are also provided:

    • Meal Boxes (breakfast, lunch, dinner)
    • Canapés and Finger Food
    • Coffee Breaks
    • Drink Options (alcoholic/non-alcoholic packages)
