International Response to the EU Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM)

The Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) aims to protect EU industries against carbon leakage. By putting a price on carbon emitted during the production of carbon-intensive goods imported into the EY, it also encourages cleaner industrial production in non-EU countries.

This document provides an overview of the reaction of selected third countries to the design and implementation of the EU’s CBAM.
