IETA position paper: Developing an effective carbon market framework towards the achievement of net-zero in India

Drafted by a scoping group comprising IETA and leading domestic and international organisations, this paper sets out the current status of carbon market development in India and how to strengthen the business voice in further development. The paper culminates with a series of key recommendations to scale up carbon markets in India.

The paper was delivered to the Minister of Environment, Forest and Climate Change at the 14th India Climate Policy and Business Conclave, which was held in Delhi 13-14 September 2023 and was organised by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce (FICCI) in partnership with IETA.
